Art in Olympia Storefronts

“Art in Olympia Storefronts” is an ongoing project of the Olympia Artspace Alliance to create a series of temporary art installations in vacant storefront windows.

Exploring the potential of downtown Olympia with temporary exhibitions that are meant to help us all see new possibilities in familiar locations.

“Light Up the Night - Winter Wonders” features work from Graeme Smith, Lakes Elementary, Josh Everson and Courtney Warwnick, Olympia High School, Cyrra Robinson, Fine Arts Club Preschool at South Sound Dance and Meredith Ehlers, Tumwater Hill Elementary now through March 2024 , in the windows of the Goldberg Building at Capitol Way at Fourth Avenue, downtown Olympia.

Fall/Winter 2023
“Our Fragile Planet” features the work by local artists Cecily Schmidt, Carrie Ziegler, Quasar Surprise & Avanti High School Students, Jericho Moss, Juniper Jack, and Rick Perry “P. Calavara” ended on November, 2023.

Spring/Summer 2023

“Things I’ve Discovered…” features the work by local artists Steve Davis, Peggy Wilson, Ali Carras, Sarah Tavis, and Didi Herron.

Winter 2022/2023

Winter Under the Salish Sea featured works by students from Fine Arts Club at South Sound Dance, Hansen Elementary School, Olympia Waldorf School and Madison Elementary in the windows .

Fall/Winter 2022

Windows to Our Future featured the work of artist and calligrapher Chiyo Sanada. The exhibition was interactive and asked the community. "What do you envision for the future of Arts in Olympia?" and "How can Olympia Artspace Alliance help realize that potential?" Learn more here.

Spring/Summer 2022

Walk This Way was an exhibition of artworks by local artists on view from March 15 through August 2022, in the windows of the Goldberg Building at the corner of Capitol Way at Fourth Avenue in downtown Olympia. The exhibition featured work from Diana Fairbanks, Elizabeth Berrien, Bridget Joan, Rose Metting and Susan Parish. The funding for this project was made possible by the City of Olympia.

Winter 2021/2022

Peaceful Critter Community Living in the Light, created by students from the Olympia Regional Learning Academy, NOVA and LP Brown in the windows of The Goldberg Building. The installation ran from November 28, 2021, through February 2022.

Seeds to Stars, an art exhibit that is part of OAA’s Art in Storefronts project featuring the work of Bakari Davis, Shameka Gagnier, Cholee Gladney, Aisha Harrison, Travis Johnson and De’Ja Marshall
